Alta's Activity Aprons

Does your loved one pick on her clothes?  Does he sit all day and do nothing but stare into space?  Does she get into things she shouldn't; things that might be dangerous?  I have great news for you!

But first, here's a little information for you.  One of the reasons that those with AD or other dementias pick their clothes, is because their depth perception is impaired, and patterns on their clothes or material such as corduroy or knobby material, looks as if it doesn't belong.  For whatever reason, money is hard to come by, and it's costly to replace clothing.

What about a loved one who cannot be persuaded to do anything?  Maybe they can't participate in activities because of physical limitations.  Whatever the reason, it doesn't keep you from grieving their loss of activity.  Folks, your loved one will interact with whatever is on his person.  This is an activity!

Those who get into things need distraction.  An activity apron can provide this distraction.

Okay, here's the good news!  Activity aprons can have many features such as, a zipper, a pocket that buttons, a pocket that doesn't button (for all those tissues!), a shoestring that ties, a strip of Velcro and faux lamb's wool. (for different tactile sensations)

Our activity aprons are unique:  we customize them for your loved one.  In addition to the things I mentioned above, your loved one's apron can have her name, cooking utensils, measuring cup and spoon, a work glove for a carpenter, an old fashioned pocket watch, etc......

You tell us a little about you loved one's past, and we can customize an apron unique to her.

Our seamstress is a senor citizen, who makes these aprons to supplement her Social Security income, and because she has a heart for Alzheimer's Disease.  Other activity aprons, though expertly made and durable, cost around $38-$40 plus shipping.

Alta's Aprons are durable, customized, and the total investment is $30.00, including shipping.  These aprons are currently available in blue or pink.  Contact us today to order an apron customized for your loved one!
